Since its founding in 2003 by a group of St. Louis-area doctors, Essence Healthcare has been exclusively focused on the Medicare community. Our Medicare Advantage plans offer complete protection, including valuable extras not offered by Original Medicare. Essence Healthcare includes HMO and PPO plans with Medicare contracts. Enrollment in Essence Healthcare depends on contract renewal. To enroll, you must have both Medicare Parts A and B and reside in the plan service area. Essence serves the greater St. Louis area, which includes many counties in Missouri and Illinois.
